System Dates
About System Dates
The Start of Period Screen in RSA Tax Country will differ slightly for non-monthly companies. There are two buttons on this screen:
- Period Dates: Always displayed for non-monthly companies.
- Dates: When rolling into a new month.
Period Dates
The Start New Period Screen in a RSA Tax Country for non-monthly companies will always display a <Period Dates> button.
The number of weeks displayed will depend on the selection made at the beginning of the tax year, e.g. 52 or 53 weeks in a weekly company, 26 or 27 weeks in a bi-weekly company.
Dates reflected on this screen are based on the Tax Year End Date. The system works backwards from that date to calculate the various Period End Dates.
This calendar is only a guideline, because if the Tax Year End date is incorrect or changes are made to dates in the current period, a recalculation of period end dates will be done, resulting in the calendar no longer being a true reflection for the year.
The calendar is not stored and is recalculated every time the calendar is accessed.
This screen can be printed out for future reference.

In the last month of the Tax Year, the number of weeks for the month will automatically be calculated.
The Month End Date will be the same as the Tax Year End Date.
It will be the last period in the tax year e.g. period 52 of 52 or 26 of 26 weeks.
The date and radio button is disabled and you will be unable to select any date.
When rolling into the last month of Tax Year, and the Tax Year End date differs from the Period End Date, then the Period End Date will be used as the Tax Year End date. When rolling into the new Tax Year, dates will calculate correctly based on the Period End Date.
If there is any discrepancy a warning message will be displayed.

When rolling into the new Tax Year, the Period End Dates Screen for the coming year is displayed as always. The Tax Year End Date is selected, determining how many weeks the Tax Year will consist of.
This screen can now be printed out for future reference.
Messages will be displayed when entering the last and first Pay Periods of the Tax Year.
The instructions on these screens can be printed out for easy reference.
